Time: 5:30 - Registration Location: University of Texas at Dallas Directions: Corner of University Parkway and Drive A www.utdallas.edu/campusmap.html Speaker: Phil Ritter Topic: Nanotechnology industries are estimated to need 2,000,000 workers worldwide by 2015. If Texas wants to have a fair share of those workers, we must produce more engineers and technically trained graduates. Other states are moving on this. Mr. Ritter will discuss the collaboration between Texas Instruments, UT Dallas and the State of Texas to fund significant new infrastructure which will dramatically increase the number of science engineering, and math graduates at UT Dallas. This model for others to emulate will be the context for an examination of state and federal programs and resources available to support this effort. |
